Elmehdi El Jamari will make his ONE Championship debut against Thai star Thongpoon PK Saenchai at ONE Fight Night 30: Kryklia vs Knowles on April 5.
El Jamari and Thongpoon will meet inside Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium in a strawweight Muay Thai bout.
El Jamari, who is the younger brother of ONE athlete Zakaria El Jamari, has captured titles at the national, regional, and international levels, picking up seven national championships, two Arab championships, as well as the WBC and K-1 Muay Thai titles.
The 27-year-old Moroccan star’s debut will be far from easy as he takes on Thai counterpart Thongpoon.
An established fan-favorite at ONE Championship, Thongpoon will be looking to avenge his loss against El Jamari’s older brother last year.
The Thai fighter most recently picked up a stunning second-round knockout victory against former world title challenger Danial Williams.
ONE Fight Night 30 is headlined by two huge world title bouts as Roman Kryklia defends his ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai world championship against Lyndon Knowles, and Regian Eersel puts his ONE Lightweight Kickboxing world championship on the line against Alexis Nicolas.
ONE Fight Night 30: Kryklia vs Knowles kicks off at 4:30 AM Mecca on Saturday, April 5 and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS.
