Dante Leon Challenges Tommy Langaker to Submission Grappling Matchup
ONE Championship Submission grappling star Dante Leon expressed his interest to face Tommy Langaker next.
The Canadian powerhouse picked up a quick submission victory against BJJ black belt Bruno Pucci in their lightweight submission grappling clash at ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs Rasulov.
And after his impressive promotional debut win, the 29-year-old already knows he wants to face the former ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling world title challenger.
“Somebody who I think is a great match for my next match would be Tommy Langaker. He and I have a very short history, but a history that goes way, way back,” Leon said.
The two men met at the IBJJF Pan-American Championships back in 2018 with the Norwegian picking up a closely contested points win.
Since then, Leon and Langaker have improved their skill sets and picked up some of the sport’s most prestigious accolades.
“I attacked him in the match and had several submission [attempts] in that match. So I think, given that we’ve both matured and grown as athletes, I’m very interested to see how that match would go”, Leon said.
“I think that’s a great match, a great step up in competition, another great match to take for me, and I think it’s a great match for the fans here at ONE,” he added.
