Daniel Cormier Gives Review of Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul Fight: ‘It’s Completely Bullshit’

Daniel Cormier criticized the poster for the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.

UFC legend Daniel Cormier has explained exactly why Jake Paul is in a no-win situation in his fight against Mike Tyson.

Paul and Tyson have a staggering 30 years age gap and this has sparked controversy when the fight was announced.

Tyson last fought in an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr in 2020 while ‘The Problem Child’ has built a 9-1 professional record.

At 57, Mike Tyson is preparing to return to the ring. The former world heavyweight boxing champion will face the phenomenon Jake Paul on July 20. The match will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Dallas, Texas (United States), and will be streamed exclusively on Netflix. Despite the huge name that is Mike Tyson, the betting odds have him losing by a wide margin. This is surely due to the age difference between the two men (30 years). The ‘Kid Dynamite’ leaves nothing to chance in its preparation. He recently displayed a big physique during training with electrodes.

Many were surprised at the announcement of this English boxing match. This is the case of former two-time UFC champion Daniel Cormier, who criticized the poster in the Good Guy, Bad Guy Podcast with Chael Sonnel:

“You know Chael, this totally sucks. It absolutely sucks because as much as I love ‘Iron Mike,’ as much as I want Mike to make as much money as possible, these workout videos here are three or four years old. Mike is a different person now. I saw Mike come into the UFC last year with a cane, I mean, I don’t know how they do it.”

He continued: “Now are they going to let Mike hit him? If they let Mike go all out on this guy, and Mike just tries to get him out of there in a few minutes, maybe it will work? But I don’t know if they would take a risk with Mike trying to go after Jake Paul that way. I think it’s totally rubbish. I think Mike Tyson’s career is over. “He’ll be 58 by the time he steps into the ring with Jake Paul.”

Like many observers, Daniel Cormier is far from being satisfied with this poster.
