Tom Aspinall will not force through a fight against fellow UFC heavyweight contender Ciryl Gane following his victory at UFC Paris on Saturday.
“I can fight the winner of Gane and Spivac, or I fight [Sergei] Pavlovich.”
After Gane’s convincing victory, Aspinall’s stance has not changed and he still appears to have an open mind regarding his next opponent in the cage.
He told TheMacLife podcast: “I’m not a bully, if he doesn’t want the fight I’m not going to try and force it on him.
“I wanted to go in the cage, the UFC didn’t want me to go in the cage. If he wants the fight, it’s here. If he doesn’t want the fight, we’ll see.
“I know I’m a bad match-up for him. I think stylistically it’s a good match-up for me, but if he doesn’t want it, then I understand.”
Aspinall was watching cageside and said before the fight: “They are the two options, I don’t have to look too far or worry about a million different people.
