Thanks to this success, the Brazilian has relaunched himself in the title race, and is in the running for the next title-shot.
Thus, he could take revenge on the current champion, Islam Makhachev, who submitted him at UFC 280.
During a recent interview, the head coach of Chute Boxe, Diego Lima, spoke about the continuation for his colt. A fight against Conor McGregor would be an option for Charles Oliveira.
“Would we do another fight before a fight against Islam Makhachev? I don’t know,” Diego Lima told MMA Fighting. “Poirier refused a title-shot, fought McGregor and then fought for the belt. Looks like McGregor isn’t excited about fighting Chandler. Maybe he liked Charles’ fight and would like to face him? Who knows ? »
