Chael Sonnen has not been kind to Tyson Fury and the fact that he accepted the fight against Francis Ngannou.
On July 11, the announcement was made official: Tyson Fury will face Francis Ngannou, in boxing, on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Since then, the rules of the fight have been announced (you can find them here) and we also had a little preview of what the ‘Predator’ was going to hit for this fight, and it’s huge.
Chael Sonnen, for his part, returned to this confrontation between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou, and it must be said, he dismantled ‘The Gypsy King’ (MMAMania):
“But what kind of junk is Fury? I really have to tell you that Fury broke my heart. I liked this guy, and I liked the entertainment. I love so many things about him. You take a guy like Fury, who God made great, he gave him great coaches, great training partners, great experiences too. He has weapons and tools that other men cannot use unless they are armed. And he will choose to use them to beat a man who is at least 37 years old, who has no experience and who has only one leg. He’s a brute, and he’s garbage. I would never do that to someone… Jesse James made a lot of money, and there are hit men who made a lot of money. I mean, there are things you can do, but you are responsible for them. You’re a bully, and you’re trash.”
Currently, Fury and Ngannou are exchanging a few spades on social media, but nothing too bad. In any case, of all the opinions that came out on this fight (like that of GSP here or that of Khabib here), the position of Chael Sonnen is very clear: he blames Fury for having accepted this fight.
