Brice Delval Eyes Win Over Yod-IQ at ONE Friday Fights 109, Aims for Bonus
Algeria’s Brice Delval aims to beat Thai rising star Yod-IQ Pimolsri with an impressive victory later this week.
Delval will face Yod-IQ in a bantamweight Muay Thai contest inside Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, May 23.
Five years after his last ONE Championship bout, the 25-year-old Algerian wants to snap his competitor’s six-win-streak.
“Only God knows [how the bout ends]. But I’m going in there to get the bonus,” Delval said.
In his previous spell at ONE Championship, Delval had suffered two split decision defeats at the hands of the legendary Nong-O Hama and Muanghthai PK Saenchai.
Despite his opponent’s big wins – including a unanimous decision victory over Russian star Abdulla Dayakaev – Delval is wary of comparing the 23-year-old star with the former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai world champion.
“I wouldn’t compare him to Nong-O—Nong-O is on another level. But I’d say he’s around the same level as Muangthai,” Delval said.
ONE Friday Fights 109 kicks off at 3:30 PM Mecca on Friday 23 May and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS and watch.onefc.com.
