Round 1: Royval takes the center of the octagon and looks to frame the former division champion. Standing, the two athletes exchange fistfights without finding a real opening.
Round 2: Brandon Moreno hits his opponent and shakes him with a right overhand. The Mexican settles into this fight and hits his target, often on the counter. After some nice exchanges, Moreno validates a takedown on Royval.
Round 3: ‘The Assassin Baby’ comes to stick his opponent in a fight. Brandon Royval manages to escape, and still tries to frame his Mexican opponent. Brandon Moreno mixes perfectly and embarrasses ‘Raw Dawg’.
Round 4: With his leg kicks, Moreno scores points. In turn, Brandon Royval validates a takedown on the Mexican, but both men quickly get up. With a combination to the body and kicks, the former champion varies his game.

Round 5: In this very close fight, everything seems to be decided in the last round. Moreno secures and blocks the American clinch against the cage. Brandon Royval throws a lot of punches without necessarily hitting. The fight ends strong with blows thrown from both sides, like in a bar fight!

In the end, Brandon Royval took his revenge against Brandon Moreno and won by split decision (48-47, 48-47, 46-49). The American, ranked number 3 in the category before the fight, now positions himself as a main challenger to the flyweight title, currently held by Alexandre Pantoja. For his part, Brandon Moreno lost at home in Mexico and suffered a second loss in a row with a split decision.
