Mexican star Brandon Moreno, former UFC Flyweight Champion, made a triumphant return with an impressive performance against Iraqi competitor Amir Albazi in the main event of UFC Fight Night 246, held at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada.
Moreno (22-8-2 in MMA, 10-5-2 in UFC) displayed his skill and strength throughout the 25-minute fight against Albazi (17-2 in MMA, 5-1 in UFC), winning with judges’ scores of 49-46 and 50-45 twice.
The bout opened with an exchange of direct strikes, where Moreno relied on his left hand for a series of powerful combinations, while Albazi attempted to leverage kicks. However, Moreno quickly gained the upper hand.
In the second round, Moreno landed a head kick that stunned Albazi, though he quickly regained balance to continue the fight. In the third round, as Moreno’s intensity increased, Albazi seemed to struggle to keep up.
Moreno launched continuous attacks in the fourth round, maintaining control through to the final moments of the fight, finishing off with a powerful kick attempt in the last second as the crowd applauded his remarkable performance.
This victory ended Moreno’s recent losing streak, reaffirming his determination to reclaim the Flyweight title and regain dominance in the 125-pound division.
