Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Marcelo Garcia has joined ONE Championship, the martial arts organization announced.
Regarded as the greatest BJJ athlete of all time, the 41-year-old will come out of retirement to compete alongside some of today’s best grapplers on ONE Championship’s roster.
The Brazilian is a five-time IBJJF world champion, a Pan-American champion and multiple-time Brazilian National champion in gi competitions.
His no-gi accolades include four ADCC World Championships as well as a multiple-time ADCC medalist in the openweight division.
Garcia, who competes at 170 pounds, owns a very high submission rate and is credited for popularizing his style of butterfly guard, guillotine choke, and arm-drag back-takes.
