This weekend, Beneil Dariush will face Charles Oliveira in the UFC 289 co-main event (see event card). As the clash approaches, ‘Benny’ is very confident. If the Iranian prevails, he should get the next lightweight title fight against Islam Makhachev. Although the latter has only suffered one failure in MMA, Dariush believes he has the skills to inflict a second defeat on the lightweight champion.
“There’s nothing he does that I can’t do better. People won’t agree, they used to say I couldn’t wrestle with these guys. I showed it in my last fight. I can do anything and that’s really what I want to show the world. So as far as Makhachev goes, I don’t see anything he does that I can’t do better. »
Beneil Dariush is currently on an 8-game winning streak. At UFC 280, the No. 4 lightweight picked up a decisive victory over Mateusz Gamrot. If he passes Charles Oliveira at UFC 289, the Iranian will have the opportunity to prove he is better than the division champion.
