Belal Muhammad is very close to getting a welterweight title shot. The latter says everything he thinks about the fight between Covington and Edwards.
Belal Muhammad can no longer wait for his turn. Indeed, ‘Remember the Name’ is on an impressive streak of 10 fights without defeat, but not the shadow of a title shot on the horizon. Asked about the fight for the title of his category, Belal took the opportunity to add his little grain of salt.
Belal Muhammad has no doubts
Speaking to Middle Easy, Belal Muhammad explained that he has a preference as to which opponent he would like to face, when the time comes for him to fight for the title. Even though he doesn’t like Colby Covington, he says he would much prefer another fight with Leon Edwards, after their first fight ended in a no contest following a first-round eye poke:
“I think Colby is the easier fight, for sure, and it will be more fun preparation, because he will definitely talk a lot. But I would like to fight Leon, just because of the unfinished taste we have, and just because it will shut up these people, these trolls, who think that Leon won four minutes and 59 seconds of a fight, which means that “He was going to win the next 21 minutes,” Muhammad explained.
“That’s not how fighting works. I think I’m going to fight Leon, I’m going to finish the fight, I’m going to dominate him and I’m going to show you what would have really happened.”
Belal is sure of himself, whatever happens, he will become UFC champion. However, he prefers to fight against Leon Edwards.
