Anissa Meksen Happy with Win Against Kana in ONE Championship

Kickboxing legend Anissa Meksen expressed her happiness with her victory against Japanese star Kana Morimoto at ONE Friday Fights 92.

The Algerian veteran turned on the style as she picked up the win at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium and raised her overall professional record to 104-7 after three rounds of fighting via unanimous decision.

After the promotional newcomer called her out, Meksen said she was pleased with her performance in what was a strong fight.

“I was very happy to win tonight because it was a long war with her. She trained with me in 2021. She trained with me, she ate with me, and she fought after the training camp, and she called me out. So, I was a little bit shocked. And now I faced her tonight, and I won, so I’m happy to win,” Meksen said.

“It was a strong fight. She was so good, good hands, good movement, and that’s it,” she added.

A former K-1 Flyweight World Champion, Kana joined ONE Championship in September and called out the legendary Meksen ahead of her her debut.

Meksen, who is a former Muay Thai and Kickboxing world champion in reputable organizations such as Glory, WAKO, WMF, and ISKA, Meksen entered this bout desperate for a win after losing her two most recent bouts.

After failing to capture her first ONE world title at atomweight and strawweight against Phetjeeja and Jackie Buntan, Meksenmanaged to pick up a big win that could turbocharge her quest to challenge for gold again.
