Amir Aliakbari Expects to Fight for World Title If He Beats Buchecha

Iran’s MMA star Amir Aliakbari is eying an opportunity to fight for the ONE Heavyweight MMA world title if he wins his next clash at ONE 169: Malykhin vs Reug Reug.

Aliakbari faces a tough test against Brazil’s Jiu-Jitsu legend Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida in a contest that may decide the next challenger for the heavyweight crown.

ONE three-division MMA champion and undefeated Russian star Anatoly Malykhin defends his heavyweight belt against Senegal’s “Reug Reug” in the main event of ONE 169.

The 36-year-old Iranian, who is on an impressive four-win-streak, expects to be granted a chance to fight the winner of the heavyweight clash if he makes it five consecutive victories at ONE 169.

“Inshallah, after winning I will definitely fight for the belt… It doesn’t matter who wins, I’m his next opponent,” Aliakbari said.

ONE 169 kicks off at 3:00 AM Mecca on Saturday, November 9 and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS.
