Allycia Hellen Rodrigues Discusses Gameplan Against Marie McManamon at ONE Fight Night 29
Brazilian star Allycia Hellen Rodrigues intends to use a carefully designed gameplan for her next title defense at ONE Championship event ONE Fight Night 29.
ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai world champion Rodrigues is set to face British star Marie McManamon in the morning hours of Saturday, March 8 at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
The 26-year-old says she will target the 34-year-old challenger’s legs in order to stop her from employing her height and reach advantage.
“Well, our game plan for this fight is – given that she’s a tall girl, you can see she is really tall, we worked a lot on leg kicks to injure her legs and gradually wear them down during the fight,” Rodrigues said.
“For me, it’s crucial not to lose my distance because she’s very tall. So we did an excellent job with boxing and leg kicks, but also full Muay Thai. We never stop training the rest of the techniques. So, I’m very well-rounded for this fight,” she added.
ONE Fight Night 29: Rodrigues vs McManamon kicks off at 4 AM Mecca on Saturday, March 8.
