Algeria’s Nabil Anane Joins Compatriot Elias Mahmoudi on ONE Fight Night 24 Card

Algeria’s Muay Thai star Nabil Anane joins compatriot Elias Mahmoudi on ONE Championship’s ONE Fight Night 24 card.

Anane will face arguably the biggest test of his career as he locks horns with Brazil’s experienced Felipe Lobo at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.

Anane most recently knocked out Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai in the second round, securing a huge deal with the martial arts organization.

The 20-year-old Algerian has put together an impressive three-win run, utilizing his height and diverse skill set that includes pinpoint punches and powerful knees to the head.

Despite his young age, Anane owns a 36-5 professional record and is a former two-time two-time WBC Muay Thai world champion and became the organization’s youngest ever champion at 17.

On the other hand, Lobo provides Anane with a unique challenge as the 31-year-old possesses great endurance and a wide range of attacking skills.

Lobo, whose professional record stands at 22-9, most recently produced a world class performance against ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty in which the Englishman claimed the victory in the fourth round after a very close battle that could have gone either way.

Meanwhile, Algeria’s Mahmoudi, who is fifth-placed in the Flyweight Kickboxing rankings, faces third-ranked contender Japanese fighter Taiki Naito in a pivotal bout that could decide the next challenger for the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing world title.

Mahmoudi was scheduled to face ONE Flyweight Kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo before an injury sidelined the Algerian.

ONE Fight Night 24 is headlined by a ONE Interim Strawweight MMA world championship between former champion Jarred Brooks and Gustavo Balart.

ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs Balart kicks off on Saturday, August 3, at 3:00 AM Mecca and is broadcast via beIN SPORTS.
