Algeria’s Brice Delval to Main Event at ONE Friday Fights 109
Algeria’s Brice Delval is set to return to ONE Championship and feature in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 109 this Friday, May 23.
Delval, who last fought in ONE Championship in January 2020, is a former S1 Muay Thai champion and the interim Lumpinee Muay Thai champion at 68 Kg.
Delval will face Yod-IQ Pimolsri in an exciting bantamweight Muay Thai contest inside Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium.
Delval, whose mother is Algerian and father is French, had fought twice in the organization, challenging the legendary Nong-O Hama for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai world title in September 2019 before facing Muangthai PK Saenchai in January 2020.
Despite putting in solid performances, Delval lost both close fights via split decision. Five years later, he will fight in ONE Championship having gathered more high-level experience and a 33-9 overall professional record.
However, the Algerian, who trains alongside compatriot Elias Mahmoudi at Mahmoudi Gym, faces a difficult task against the rising Thai star.
Yod-IQ owns an overall professional record of 123-36 including an 8-1 record at ONE Friday Fights.
The 23-year-old Thai fighter’s eight wins include a victory over Russia’s rising Abdulla Dayakaev who most recently earned an impressive TKO win against former world title challenger Saemapetch Fairtex at ONE Fight Night 31.
ONE Friday Fights 109 kicks off at 3:30 PM Mecca on Friday 23 May and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS and watch.onefc.com.
