Alex Pereira Destroys Magomed Ankalaev in One Minute to Reclaim UFC 320 Title

At UFC 320, Alex “Poatan” Pereira once again demonstrated that he is one of the greatest fighters in the under-93 kg division, overwhelming Magomed Ankalaev in their rematch and reclaiming the title he lost in March.

At the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, all eyes were on the highly anticipated rematch: Ankalaev vs. Pereira 2. After multiple verbal exchanges and provocations, the octagon became the ultimate judge.

The first round was explosive. Pereira wasted no time and immediately closed the distance. “Poatan” put Ankalaev under intense pressure with precise low kicks, forcing him back against the cage and causing him to lose control of the fight.

With a powerful rear elbow, the Brazilian knocked the champion down, and despite Ankalaev’s attempt to defend by targeting the legs, Pereira followed up with a devastating series of ground elbows, prompting the referee to stop the fight for a TKO victory.

This victory symbolically marks the decline of the Dagestani school’s dominance in the division, while the Brazilians reaffirm the strength and effectiveness of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Brazilian martial arts, proving capable of producing champions even against the toughest opposition.

Alex Pereira demonstrates that Brazilian striking, judo, and jiu-jitsu remain major assets in global MMA, and that the Brazilian martial arts legacy is not merely historical—it is a living reality that asserts itself in every cage.
