Algerian Muay Thai star Akram Hamidi picked up an impressive first-round TKO victory against Thai competitor Kongchai Chanaidonmueang at ONE Friday Fights 66.
Hamidi never gave his opponent any chance as he employed high offensive pressure from the kick-off of the Strawweight Muay Thai contest.
The Algerian dominated Kongchai, utilizing low kicks followed by punches with the Thai fighter remaining on the backfoot. Kongchai threw a punch to stop Hamidi’s forward momentum – but that strike would prove to be the Thai’s last.
Hamidi dropped Kongchai to the canvas. With his back to the ropes and visibly shook, the Thai fighter could not counter Hamidi’s quick and accurate punching combinations, prompting the referee to intervene and end the contest via TKO at 1:41 of the first round.
With this win, Hamidi raises his ONE record to 2-1 with his only loss coming against ONE Strawweight Muay Thai world champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai.
