Morocco’s Zakaria El Jamari suffered a disappointing knockout defeat against Japan’s Hyu at ONE 172: Takeru vs Rodtang on Sunday morning.
El Jamari employed a cautious approach, keeping his guard up and patiently searching for openings in his opponent’s defense with low kicks in the flyweight kickboxing bout.
However, the young Japanese star managed to corner the Moroccan veteran, striking with two quick jabs before landing a left knee that knocked out his opponent.
The 35-year-old Moroccan has now suffered his third consecutive knockout defeat in ONE Championship after losses to Dechapan Sor Dechapan and Johan Estupinan.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Japanese raised his overall record to 11-0 with his third win in the global martial arts organization.
