Turkiye’s Shamil Erdogan Beats Gilberto Galvao in 41 Seconds
Shamil Erdogan picked up his fourth win from four fights as he made quick work of Brazilian veteran Gilberto Galvao at ONE Championship show ONE Fight Night 29.
Erdogan finished Galvao in 41 seconds via technical knockout (TKO) in a one-sided light heavyweight MMA bout in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 34-year-old Turkish star dropped the Brazilian with a knee shot to the head and unloaded with a heavy ground-and-pound, prompting the referee to call for an early end to the matchup.
Erdogan’s win comes after two dominant TKO wins against former two-division MMA world champion Aung La N Sang and a debut knockout win against China’s Fan Rong at middleweight.
After sealing his first win at light heavyweight and raising his clean overall MMA record to 12-0, Erdogan asked ONE CEO and Chairman Chatri Sityodtong for a world title shot as he eyes facing two-division world champion Anatoly Malykhin.
