Iran’s Parham Gheirati Loses for the First Time in ONE Championship at ONE Fight Night 29
Iran’s Parham Gheirati endured his first defeat at ONE Championship at the hands of Thai star Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon at ONE Fight Night 29.
In his first bout in the promotion’s monthly series, Gheirati could not find the openings he needed and struggled to keep up with the vicious strikes Rambolek directed towards him.
The 21-year-old Iranian marched forward since the start of the bantamweight Muay Thai bout, hitting dangerous strikes early on. Both men looked sharp as they traded consecutive strikes. In the last minute of the first round, Rambolek dropped the Iranian twice, first with a swinging right hand and then with a straight right hand.
In the second round, Gheirati came out swinging again. But Rambolek quickly took control, opening the Iranian’s head up with two elbow strikes and dropping him twice in a matter of seconds to score a technical knockout (TKO) victory at 1:15 of the second round.
Gheirati, who amassed a 6-0 record at ONE Friday Fights, now sees his nine-win-streak snapped after a disappointing debut, while Rambolek picks up his third consecutive victory at ONE Championship, raising his overall record to 65-14.
