ONE Strawweight MMA world champion Joshua Pacio defeated Jarred Brooks via second-round technical knockout (TKO) at ONE 171: Qatar.
Pacio beat theinterim champion to become the undisputed divisional titleholder.
Brooks dragged Pacio onto the mat in the opening stanza where he tried to choke the Filipino who showed an immense amount of courage and flexibility to avoid a submission loss.
But Pacio came out fighting in the second round, dropping Brooks with a teep before hitting hard with the ground-and-pound with right hands to the American’s abdomen.
Pacio remained on top of the American star who could not recover. And just as Brooks was trying to regain his feet, Pacio struck once and again to the head until the referee stopped the fight, granting the Filipino perhaps the biggest wins of his career.
