Tang Kai Defends ONE Featherweight MMA World Title Against Akbar Abdullaev at ONE Fight Night 27
ONE Featherweight MMA world champion Tang Kai will put his title on the line against undefeated knockout star Akbar Abdullaev in the main event of ONE Championship’s first show of 2025.
Tang Kai and Abdullaev will face each other at ONE Fight Night 27 which kicks off at 4:00 AM Mecca on Saturday, January 11.
The Chinese champion, who has held the featherweight title since August 2022, owns a clean 8-0 record in ONE Championship with five wins coming via knockout.
The 28-year-old, who became the first male Chinese MMA champion in history, last defeated former world champion Thanh Le in a rematch at ONE 166: Qatar between the two back in March 2024.
Tang faces perhaps his stiffest test yet against Kyrgyz knockout artist Abdullaev. The 27-year-old holds a clean professional record of 11-0 and has picked up three wins in ONE Championship since making his debut back in March.
In his last fight, Abdullaev handed formerly undefeated Turkish star Halil Amir the first defeat of his career with an impressivesecond-round knockout.
ONE Fight Night 27 kicks off at 4:00 AM Mecca on Saturday, January 11 and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS.
