Zakaria El Jamari fell to a first round defeat against Aliff Sor Dechapan at ONE Championship event ONE Fight Night 24 on Saturday, August 3.
El Jamari started the three-round clash inside Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium with low kicks while Aliff struck with high kicks. The Moroccan hit a spinning elbow before the two men entered the clinch.
From that point, the Thai fighter took control of the Catchweight (58 Kg) Muay Thai bout, hitting El Jamari with a heavy high right kick, knocking him down for the first time during the contest.
Aliff hit a combination of punches, landing a heavy right hand that dropped El Jamari again. The punch proved to be the last piece of action in the bout as the referee handed the Thai a TKO win.
With this loss, El Jamari’s ONE record drops to 1-2 while Aliff’s win means his promotional record improves to 5-2.
El Jamari had last picked up an impressive win against Thai star Thongpoon PK Saenchai in May after a debut defeat at the hands of Russia’s Ali Saldoev in ONE 166: Qatar on March 1.
