Undefeated Uzbek fighter Sanzhar Zakirov is set to face Japanese counterpart Hiroba Minowa in a Strawweight MMA bout at ONE Championship’s show ONE 168: Denver.
Zakirov went on an impressive 3-0 run in the martial arts organization’s weekly series ONE Friday Fights, winning a contract from CEO and Chairman Chatri Sityodtong.
Nicknamed “Tornado”, the 21-year-old beat Ryosuke Honda and Dave Bangguigui via technical knockout (TKO) and Zaiundin Suleimanov via unanimous decision, stretching his undefeated professional record to 12-0.
On the other hand, Minowa managed to stop his slump in form, picking up a victory against Jeremy Miado after three straight defeats. The 24-year-old Japanese owns a 3-3 ONE record and a 14-5 overall record.
ONE 168: Denver, which kicks off in the morning hours of September 7, is headlined by a champion vs champion main event as two-sports king Jonathan Haggerty defends his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai world title against ONE Flyweight Kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo.
