Round 1: With his amazing style, Michael Page tries to surprise Ian Jarry with his footwork. The Irishman managed to grab the “Venom” and drop it to the ground. “The Future” moves forward and locks a body triangle on the former Bellator fighter. In the process, Ian Jarry attempts a rear-naked choke but the Englishman defends as best he can.
Round 2: Standing, Paige is dangerous with strikes that hit Gary in the face. The Irishman grabs Michael Page in his fist and pins him against the cage. With a flash, he tries a takedown to apply a heel lock… to no avail. By beating him, Venom annoys his British counterpart.
Round 3: Quickly, Ian Jarry finds himself on the ground on his back, with Michael Page on top. Both men get up and “The Future” tries to use his grappling again. Backpack, he locked a body triangle on the Englishman, without being able to put in the finishing touches.
In the end, Ian Jarry won by unanimous decision over Michael “Venom” Page (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). The Irishman maintains his immunity with a 15-0 record. He also maintains his No. 7 spot in the UFC welterweight rankings, and is aiming more than ever at the top of the division.
On the other hand, Page tasted his first defeat in the UFC after this epic encounter.
