Khamzat Chimaev hopes that the UFC will keep the promise made to him, to fight for the middleweight belt. He is firmly awaiting the result of UFC 297 which will signify his next opponent for him.
‘Borz’ with fangs. After giving former 77kg champion Kamaru Usman a hard time, Khamzat Chimaev now wants his title shot. Khamzat only sees himself in this title race and affirms it “one hundred percent” to Mohammed Hijab on YouTube.
Once UFC 297, pitting 84kg champion Sean Strickland against Dricus du Plessis, takes place, Khamzat Chimaev will be next according to him: “They promised me this fight, so now we will wait for the winner of the fight and take the belt.”
Khamzat Chimaev the real terror
The 29-year-old fighter is still undefeated but his career has not gone in the direction he wanted. For a time, the latter sought to win the welterweight title, but weight problems forced ‘Borz’ to seek the title of the division above.
He is doing quite well, projecting himself to #9 place at 84kg, despite the fact that he has still not met a middleweight in the UFC. We can still note that during Brave CF 18, he gave a sensational KO to Ikram Aliskerov, a real 84 who is today in the UFC and with two victories in a row against Phil Hawes and Warley Alves.
