Dana White considers UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones the greatest fighter of all time.
The heavyweight title fight will pit Jon Jones (27-1) against Stipe Miocic (20-4) on Saturday, November 11 at UFC 295 taking place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Jon Jones, 36, will return to the octagon since his express win over Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 last March. As for him, Stipe Miocic comes out of his last defeat by KO against Francis Ngannou (17-3) in March 2021, almost two and a half years without a fight.
Jon Jones is the best of all time
According to UFC President Dana White, “Bones” is the greatest fighter of all time. On “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson,” Dana White opened up about heavyweight champion Jon Jones:
“I mean this guy is the best. It’s the best, it’s the greatest. He is one of the greatest fighters of all time, of all combat sports. I don’t think people give him enough credit. This guy is undefeated, he never lost in MMA, he went through the killer lane, down to light heavyweight as a young man, then he moved up to heavyweight and won at heavyweight. »
Asked about Jones’ madness, White replied:
“All fighters are crazy, you know that. What makes Jon Jones so unique and special is everything he’s done outside of the octagon and outside of the sport, yet he still destroyed everyone he fought. It’s quite fascinating when you’re dealing with professional fighters, you have to be a bit crazy to be a professional fighter. »
Dana White went on to say:
“Jon Jones is one of those guys who when he’s gone will really get the credit he absolutely deserves. He’s a bad asshole.”
Regarding Jones’ next fight against Miocic at UFC 295, White said:
“Jon is talking about retiring after this fight, but we’ll see what happens. I mean he’s so good. I think it will depend on the challenges that will come his way if he wins. »
When it comes to challenges, two names are knocking on Jones’ door, Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall.
