5 Facts About Undefeated Lightweight MMA Contender Alibeg Rasulov

Alibeg Rasulov hopes to keep his clean professional record intact when he competes in ONE Championship for the third time.

Rasulov will face Swiss star Maurice Abevi in a lightweight MMA bout at ONE Fight Night 32 which kicks off at 4:00 AM Mecca and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS and watch.onefc.com.

Here are five facts about the Turkish fighter who will be aiming to earn another chance to face ONE two-division world champion Christian Lee after their first title matchup ended in a no-contest.

1. Dagestani-Bred Wrestling

Rasulov, who represents Turkey, was born and raised in Dagestan where he was introduced to martial arts through wrestling. While he would soon add Muay Thai and MMA training to his regimen, the foundation of his game still consists of powerful takedowns, suffocating pressure, and a relentless grappling attack.

2. More than Ten Years of MMA Experience

Rasulov transitioned to MMA in 2012 at the age of 20. Training out of the respected Gorets Fight Team in Dagestan, he made his amateur debut in 2013 and quickly captured the attention of European MMA fans as a top talent on the rise.

3. Perfect Record

Rasulov turned pro in 2016, and even though he was competing in perhaps the toughest regional MMA circuit on the planet, he amassed an incredible 13-0 record before joining ONE Championship.

4. A Student of the Game

Training alongside top international fighters including former ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title challenger Jamal Yusupov, Rasulov has continued to evolve as a competitor by training at the famed Hyperion Fighters gym in Turkey which has helped shape Rasulov into a well-rounded athlete who is dangerous when grappling or striking.

5. A Ground-and-Pound Expert

Rasulov is among the most proficient ground-and-pound artists competing in MMA today, finishing six opponents via TKO. His ground-and-pound skills have also helped him to finish four opponents by submission.
