Big drop in audience for TUF 31: has Conor McGregor lost his aura?

The Ultimate Fighter Season 31 has started disastrously for Conor McGregor’s team.

The audience figures for the 31st season of “The Ultimate Fighter” feels different than most in years past because it marks the return of the “Notorious” Conor McGregor. The season will culminate in McGregor taking on the always-exciting Michael Chandler. For now, they face off as coaches trying to lead a group of fighters to a contract with the UFC.

June 30 marked Conor McGregor’s return to “The Ultimate Fighter 31,” eight years after its first season. At the time, the Irishman was pitted against Urijah Faber as a manager. This time, the ‘Notorious’ has been requested with Michael Chandler. The two athletes are at the head of their team made up of athletes from different weight categories. Despite a good poster, the audience results are disappointing.

Has Conor McGregor lost his aura?

Viewership figures revealed that the start of the season would have garnered just 294,000 viewers. The show was only in eleventh place among programs broadcast at the same time slot. In addition, the market share among 18-34 year olds (target of the issue) was only 0.14. In 2015, during the 22nd edition, Conor McGregor’s team was opposed to that of Urijah Faber.
