Israel Adesanya, the Nigerian star and one of the greatest middleweight fighters in UFC history, is set to return to the octagon on February 1, 2025, in Saudi Arabia.
Facing Nassourdine Imavov, Adesanya aims to reclaim his shine after a string of bitter losses. For the first time in six years, there will be no title on the line for the former champion.
Recently defeated by Dricus du Plessis via a fourth-round submission, Adesanya admitted there is room for improvement. On his YouTube channel, he stated: “I felt strong in my last fight, but I know there are areas to improve. I’ve worked hard to make those adjustments.”
A Battle for Redemption
Adesanya understands the significance of this fight, especially as it’s considered “the biggest fight” for Nassourdine Imavov, who is eager to make a name for himself by defeating the Nigerian superstar.
Adesanya added: “It doesn’t matter if there’s a title or not. For me, it’s just another fight night. But for Imavov, this means everything. It’s up to me to halt his progress and remind everyone who I am.”
