The result gives the Brit his second victory in bare-knuckle boxing, but it came after five rounds in which Romero produced long stretches of pressure and made the fight considerably more demanding than the scorecards might suggest.

Both men entered the fight carrying extensive experience from their time in the UFC, but this was a different setting, one in which the margin for error is particularly small. Physically the bigger man, Till tried from the opening bell to use his size to dictate the pace. Romero moved forward more cautiously, waiting for the right moments to launch his attacks. The opening round remained largely a period of observation before the Cuban gradually found his openings and finished the round with the advantage.

دارين تيل يحسم معركة يوئيل روميرو… ثم يشعلها مع بطل BKFC pic.twitter.com/eWwhrJrZ6J

— mmamag (@mmamagma) September 28, 2026

The second round brought a change. Till began finding his timing more effectively with his left hand, repeatedly looking for the left hook before becoming more accurate with his combinations in the latter stages of the round. Romero was visibly shaken late in the round, a moment that allowed Till to establish himself more firmly in the fight and raise the intensity.

The third round became the clearest turning point. Romero increased the pressure and focused more heavily on body shots, forcing Till to fight while under sustained pressure. In the closing seconds, the Brit absorbed a powerful strike and dropped to one knee, one of the most telling moments of the contest. For Romero, it suggested that his pressure was beginning to pay off. For Till, it became a test of how much he still had left to give.

Romero continued targeting the body in the fourth round, while the damage was becoming increasingly visible on Till’s face, particularly beneath his right eye. The Brit did not simply retreat into a defensive shell, however. He remained in the exchanges and waited until the final round to increase his aggression and take greater risks.

The final round eventually unfolded as might be expected from two fighters with so much experience. Till pushed forward more, Romero continued to attack, and as the final bell approached the two men traded at a high pace. Then the bell sounded, leaving the result in the hands of the judges.

Even when being punched by Yoel Romero… Darren Till was loving life 🤣#BKFC94 ▪️ pic.twitter.com/6npyAVyUdQ

— DAZN Combat Sports (@DAZNCombat) September 26, 2026

The decision went unanimously to Till, with all three judges scoring the fight 49-46. “The Gorilla” therefore moves to 2-0 in the BKFC, following his promotional debut in May with a second-round knockout.

Yet the night did not quite end when the fight did. After the bout, Till became involved in a heated confrontation with Lorenzo Hunt, the BKFC champion. The incident immediately shifted some of the attention toward what could come next for Till following his victory over Romero. The information currently available about the confrontation is not enough to establish that a fight between the two has been made. For now, the exchange simply puts Hunt’s name into the immediate conversation surrounding Till’s bare-knuckle career.

The numbers remain straightforward: two BKFC wins, one by knockout and one by decision.
