They already had a heated back and forth during the season press conference that led to them physically sweating it out at the final PPV of 2023. That\u2019s what happened\u00a0<strong>Gilbert Burns<\/strong>who was with his family when his wife recently revealed what happened in the incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Sean Strickland apologized to Gilbert Burns after his UFC 296 fight with Dricus du Plessis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the controversial comments of Colby Covington on the father of Leon Edwards, followed those of Dricus Du Plessis on the childhood of Sean Strickland. The South African had made fun of the sudden violence Strickland suffered at the hands of his father during his childhood. During UFC 296, both men were present in the audience, placed a few meters from each other. Obviously, it escalated and the two men fought. Except that between the two, was placed Gilbert Burns and his family. The latter had to quickly move aside to avoid being hit. Gilbert Burns&#8217; wife, Bruna Burns, spoke about this event to MMAFighting:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHe (Sean Strickland) said, \u2018Excuse me, excuse me,\u2019 and I said, \u2018Okay. Durinho (Gilbert Burns) pulled Joshua (their son) and said to me: &#8216;Get out of there, they&#8217;re going to fight!&#8217; We were looking at the giant screen and we saw nothing. Ms. Burns then adds that:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cStrickland texted \u2018Durinho\u2019 later to apologize and ask if anything had happened to the kids and me. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Class from Strickland despite his excess. Gilbert Burns, accustomed to bloody fights in the cage, did not seem affected by the altercation. On the contrary, he had fun: \u201cPedro (his other son) was watching from the front row.
